The premiere of the second season of the series «Marshals» concluded with the unexpected death of a key character. The episode, which aired on October 4, continued the storyline from the end of the first season, where Case (Luke Grimes) was trying to save his son from Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey).
Case was working with Tom’s daughter, Dolly (Ellin Jameson), but soon became disillusioned with her upon discovering her connection to his son’s kidnapper. As a result of a dramatic confrontation, Dolly chose her father, leading to a car accident that resulted in the death of Case’s love interest.
The character’s death came as a surprise following the first season finale, in which Andrea (Ash Santos) received a job offer in Washington, while Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) and Bell (Ariel Kebbel) were caught in an ambush involving Tom. It was unclear whether Cal and Bell survived, but Marshall-Green and Kebbel hinted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that they had begun filming the second season.
Marshall-Green confirmed that his character is alive, but not without consequences. He also expressed a desire to continue working on the show, noting that he enjoys collaborating with the team and the actors. Kebbel confirmed her participation in the second season, adding that they are starting filming from the moment of the first season finale.
The series «Marshals» airs on CBS on Sundays at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, and is available for streaming on Paramount+ the following day.
