In anticipation of the 250th anniversary celebration of the United States, organizers are preparing a large-scale event in the nation’s capital. The Freedom 250 Great American State Fair will bring together all 50 states and territories of the U.S. for more than two weeks of exhibitions, entertainment, food, and cultural events on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Recently, the event attracted attention after several performers withdrew from the concert. In response, Freedom 250 representative Rachel Reisner stated that the organizers respect «the rights of any artist to make their own decisions» and emphasized that the fair is intended to celebrate «250 years of American freedom, culture, and unity».
Below you can find out when the Great American State Fair will take place, who will be able to attend the event, and which artists are still scheduled to perform.
The Great American State Fair will take place from June 25 to July 10, 2026, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
This 16-day event is part of the Freedom 250 celebration, marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and will include exhibitions from all 56 states and territories of the U.S., live performances, attractions, and themed programs.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Organizers recommend pre-registration, although it is expected that entry will also be available without registration. Visitors from across the country will be able to attend the fair, which will offer concerts, state exhibitions, attractions, food vendors, and special themed events throughout the celebration.
The lineup of performers has changed significantly after several artists withdrew following the announcement of the event. Among those who publicly declined are Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, The Commodores, Morris Day and The Time, as well as Milli Vanilli.
At the time of publication, Flo Rida and Vanilla Ice remain among the performers still scheduled to appear. The status of C+C Music Factory remains less clear, and organizers have indicated that additional announcements regarding the entertainment lineup may be made before the fair begins. Due to recent withdrawals, the lineup of performers may change
