It’s time to update your resume, but only if you are currently fluent in Welsh or can quickly learn it.
Prince William and Princess Kate, both 42 years old, are looking for a new personal secretary assistant, posting the vacancy on the royal job site. «This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team at Kensington Palace, supporting Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales», - the job description reads.
In addition to requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills, they are looking for a candidate «with a proven ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of individuals and institutions».
«You must have a proactive, practical approach to working in a small and flexible team, as well as a strong understanding of Welsh communities, affairs, and business».
King Charles III famously learned Welsh before his investiture ceremony as the traditional title holder of the Prince of Wales in July 1969. The monarch had a record-breaking tenure as the Prince of Wales, holding the position for 64 years before becoming king after the death of Queen Elizabeth in 2022 at the age of 96.
The day after the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth’s death ended, the couple visited Wales for the first time with their new titles. Priest Steven Banting welcomed Kate and William in Swansea during their visit, and later told PEOPLE magazine that the Duke of Cambridge is in the process of learning the ancient national language.
The couple has visited Wales several times since then, including the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2023.
Today (July 19) is the last day to apply
