Steve Irwin’s widow, Terri: «I had the best marriage, I’m not looking for a replacement»

Steve Irwin’s wife, Terri, revealed that she has definitely found her «happily ever after» with her late husband in a new interview with Us Weekly, published on Thursday, May 30. Reflecting on her relationship with the beloved TV host, she admitted that she has no interest in dating, almost 20 years after Steve’s tragic death in 2006.
«I had the best marriage in the world for 14 years, and I am very comfortable looking at myself in the mirror… So I’m okay being alone now. And I miss Steve, but I’m not lonely, so I’m very lucky», - added the wife of the «Crocodile Hunter».
They got married in June 1992 and welcomed their children, Bindi Sue in 1998 and Robert Clarence Irwin in 2003. Just over ten years later, Steve died at the age of 44 in September 2006 from a stingray barb to the chest while filming the Great Barrier Reef, leaving his widow with two children to navigate the wild world alone.
«He really looked into the fire… And [once] he came and said, 'We need to have children. Who will we leave all this to? We need to have children.' And I said, 'Just because you have kids doesn’t mean they will be interested in what you do.' And he said, 'No, we will have kids, and they will love wildlife and conservation,'» shared Terri.
With a marriage that lasted over a decade, she remains happy with what she was able to experience with Steve, and acknowledged that while she doesn’t want to date, she is more than happy to help someone find their true love, like she did. «And while there are many wonderful men in the world, do you see another Steve Irwin? I just can’t. I would say, 'I like that you’re a librarian and the Dewey Decimal System is cool, but I need to go jump on a crocodile and do it.' Forget about it», - the conservationist said.
Although she is not actively seeking someone herself, Terri explained that she is a fan of «The Bachelor» and expressed some interest in participating, but would prefer to be behind the scenes as a producer. Ultimately, she explained that she believes Steve would be «very proud» of everything his family has achieved in his honor, as it was his «big dream» to pass on his love for conservation to his children
