Vladimir Klitschko filed for custody of his daughter Kaia

Hayden Panettiere’s ex-partner, Wladimir Klitschko, has filed for temporary guardianship of their daughter Kaya following the actress’s death. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Klitschko submitted the paperwork on September 24 to become the temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate, who is the sole heir to her late mother’s fortune.
Since Kaya is only 11 years old, the court may appoint a guardian for her estate to represent the girl’s interests while Panettiere’s estate is being processed. Klitschko has requested the court to appoint him as guardian so he can file the necessary documents and propose a candidate for the estate administrator on behalf of his daughter, to protect her rights to Panettiere’s property.
The filed documents state that it is «necessary and urgent» to appoint Klitschko as temporary guardian so he can file for Hayden’s estate and have the ability to appoint an administrator for her property. It is noted that without immediate appointment, there is a high likelihood of loss, damage, or misappropriation of Panettiere’s property before a personal representative is appointed, which would negatively impact Kaya as the sole heir.
The filing also mentions that some of Panettiere’s belongings, including designer clothing and jewelry, have been temporarily moved from her home in Los Angeles due to the ongoing investigation into her death. The documents indicate that there is currently no authorized representative to protect the interests of Panettiere’s estate in connection with the investigation.
Klitschko and Panettiere dated on and off before getting engaged in 2013, after which Kaya was born in 2014. The couple ended their engagement and relationship in 2018, after which Panettiere granted custody of their daughter to Klitschko. Despite their breakup, they continued to co-parent Kaya, who lived with Klitschko in Ukraine.
Hayden Panettiere passed away on August 16 at the age of 36. It was later revealed that the cause of death was «toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine», - and her death was ruled accidental.
