Jerry Turner and Teresa Nist, apparently, were ready for a possible divorce. After announcing their separation to the world on «Good Morning America», - the «Golden Bachelor» couple revealed that they had signed a prenuptial agreement when they got married.

«We looked at house after house, but we never got to the point where we would make that decision», - Teresa explained on GMA. Jerry also noted that «what struck me the most in our conversations is how devoted we both are to our families. So we look at these conversations and both think that it’s better for each of us to live separately for our happiness».
Jerry began the announcement by stating that he and Teresa had many «frank conversations» about their situation.
«Teresa and I have had many frank conversations, and we have carefully looked at our situation, our living arrangements, etc., and we have come to the mutual conclusion that it is probably time for us to end our marriage», - Jerry said, to which Teresa added: «We have received so much love and support from many people who watched 'The Golden Bachelor,' and I don’t think we can tell you how many people have told us that it gave them so much hope. We don’t want anything to change for anyone».
After the breakup was announced, GMA’s Juju Chang noted that Jerry and Teresa had signed a prenuptial agreement, which they «strongly recommend» to others.
The terms and conditions of their prenuptial agreement were not disclosed to the public. However, Jerry and Teresa are ensuring the protection of their assets, as he is a restaurateur and she is a financial analyst.
