«Dancing with the Stars» returns to the dance floor for its 33rd season with familiar faces!
As yet undisclosed celebrities are preparing to compete against each other with their partners, they can expect a warm welcome from co-hosts Julianne Hough, a former professional dancer, and Alfonso Ribeiro, the winner of season 19 in the mirror ball trophy competition.
This is not their first time hosting together. The 52-year-old actor has been hosting the show since 2022, originally with Tyra Banks. In season 32, his partner was a 36-year-old professional dancer. Their chemistry goes way back, as Julianne was a judge on the season that Alfonso won.
In a 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the «Fresh Prince of Bel-Air» actor shared: «I think our chemistry is going to be fantastic. We’ve known each other for so long. She was a judge on my season». He added: «We've known each other for many years, and our energy just feels right. We sat down for lunch, and two and a half hours later we realized it was time to go home and do something. And I think that chemistry and friendship will come through the show to the audience».
While Alfonso and Julianne will be supporting the dancers, those who will be putting them to the test will be returning judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough — a six-time mirror ball trophy winner, Julianne’s brother, and a former professional dancer.
This trio of judges has been working together since 2020, hosting the show during the pandemic. The last time they were accompanied by the late longtime judge and dance critic Len Goodman, in whose honor the show’s trophy is named.
