Welcome back to Freddy Fazbear’s. The upcoming sequel from Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, «Five Nights at Freddy’s 2», - will be released at the end of 2025. To keep fans excited, producer Jason Blum appeared at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April 2025 — dressed as a killer animatronic — to showcase the trailer for «Five Nights at Freddy’s 2». Fans can expect the return of the original star for the second film: Josh Hutcherson.

The sequel «Five Nights at Freddy’s 2» will be released on December 5, 2025, as shown in the official trailer.
Thanks to Blumhouse’s debut at CinemaCon, fans finally got to see the sequel trailer. Compared to the first film, FNAF 2 has a lot more jump scares and horrors, as seen in the trailer. The character Josh plays, Mike, has his hands full protecting everyone from the horror of the murderous animatronics at Freddy Fazbear’s.
While the first FNAF was released on both Peacock and in theaters, the second film has an exclusive theatrical release, meaning fans will be able to see it in theaters.
It is unclear when FNAF 2 will be released on a streaming platform. Since we are a few months away from its theatrical premiere, Universal Pictures has not yet announced a streaming date.
As the first FNAF is available to watch on Peacock, it is expected that the sequel will be released on the same platform.
While Josh leads FNAF 2, he is joined by several talented actors. Horror icon Matthew Lillard, who will also return to the «Scream» franchise for its seventh installment, reprises his role as William Afton, the villain from the first film.
Piper Rubio will also return as Mike’s younger sister, Abby Schmidt, as well as Elizabeth Lail, who plays local police officer Vanessa: William’s daughter. The cast also includes Makenna Grace.
