During his last days, O.J. Simpson was surrounded by his family. All of the late ex-football player’s children, including two he shared with his ex-wife Nicole Brown, visited their father before he passed away this week, according to a new report.

TMZ reported that visitors had to sign an NDA when visiting the 76-year-old's home and were not allowed to bring their phones. Among those who came were family, friends, and medical specialists. It was also reported that a doctor had checked on O.J. a few days before his death and informed everyone around him that he was dying. According to the publication, four out of his five children surrounded him: Sydney and Justin, whom he shared with Nicole, and Jason and Arnelle, whom he shared with his ex-wife Marguerite Whitley. O.J.'s last child with Marguerite, Aaren, died at just 1 year old in 1979 after a drowning accident.

In addition to his immediate circle, the publication reported that «dozens of friends» came to say goodbye to O.J.

On Thursday, April 11, O.J.'s adult children announced their father’s death through X (formerly known as Twitter).

«On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer», - they wrote in a statement. «He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this transition period, his family asks that you respect their desire for privacy and dignity».

O.J. had been battling prostate cancer. Earlier this year, he reportedly insisted that his health was «good» in a social media post.

«Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. My health is good», - O.J. said in a video. «Obviously, I have some issues, but I think I’m almost through them, and hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll be back on the golf course».

In February, rumors surfaced that he was in hospice care, but the former athlete denied these reports, sharing a separate video on social media.

«Hospice? You’re talking about hospice?» he asked. «No, I’m not in any hospice. I don’t know who spread that. But whoever did it — as Donald says: you can’t trust the media! … Anyway, I’m inviting a lot of friends to the Super Bowl here in Las Vegas. Everything’s fine. So, guys. Take care, have a good weekend at the Super Bowl»
