Get the full update on when the parks will reopen.

Earlier this week on the WDW website, it was noted that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, as well as Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, would temporarily close from 11:00 am on October 9. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will remain closed until Sunday, October 13, while Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are likely to reopen on Friday, October 11.

As for the parks, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom closed at 1:00 pm on October 9, while Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs closed at 2:00 pm on the same day.

WDW noted on October 8 that «it is likely that the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, October 10», - and that «Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom» was canceled for that day.

On Thursday, October 10, Walt Disney World remained closed all day. According to information on its website, WDW noted that all «theme parks and Disney Springs, including parking garages, are currently closed».

For all guests staying at Disney hotels in Orlando, WDW offered the following options for resort guests: free Disney movies in resort rooms, «unexpected character visits and even more family fun» in the lobbies, and free arcade games.

In a new statement published on its website, The Walt Disney Company wrote: «We are grateful that Walt Disney World survived the hurricane. Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs will reopen on Friday, October 11, during regular operating hours».

Despite fake images circulating on the internet, Walt Disney World parks in Orlando did not confirm any serious flooding on Wednesday, October 9. On that day, images created by artificial intelligence depicting extensive flooding in the Magic Kingdom were spreading on social media.

According to X (formerly known as Twitter), warnings appeared next to several images, noting: «While the theme parks are closed due to the hurricane, these images are artificial intelligence art, created for sensation or, in this case, completely fictional events. There are no reports of flooding at Disney»
