During a concert on October 2 at Gillette Stadium in Boston, members of Zach Bryan’s band showed solidarity with the Palestinian people by wearing clothing supporting the «Free Palestine» movement. Bryan himself appeared on stage in a black t-shirt with the words «Free Palestine», - while his musicians, drummer Nate Head and guitarist Noah Le Gro, were also dressed in corresponding gear.
The organization Wear the Peace noted on its Twitter that it «feels honored» to see Le Gro performing on stage in a Palestinian t-shirt, despite attempts to ban mentions of Palestine at the concert. Le Gro and Head shared videos of their t-shirts on Instagram Stories.
Head also posted a message mentioning five-year-old Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza in 2024, adding: «FREE PALESTINE». According to the UN and UNICEF, since the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, at least 21,000 Palestinian children have been killed.
Zach Bryan did not comment on his team’s decision to wear pro-Palestinian slogans at the concert. Stadium owner Robert Kraft, who is 85 years old, previously came under scrutiny after rapper Macklemore claimed that Kraft pressured the company organizing Ed Sheeran’s tour to exclude him from the opening acts following negative reactions to his performances in New Jersey. In a statement on September 16, Kraft emphasized his support for efforts to create opportunities for Palestinians and to unite Palestinians and Israelis.
Ed Sheeran continues his tour without the support of artists who left in solidarity with Macklemore. The rapper, in turn, is preparing for a three-day «Free Palestine» tour in Europe, with all proceeds going to support the Palestinian people.
