Brothers Zach and Nate Johnson faced a number of challenges during their participation in the show «The Amazing Race», - but one incident remained off-camera — the water taxi took them to the wrong location. Nate, 27, told Us in an interview that the taxi driver did not drop them off at the right point, and they had to walk another one and a half miles to the spot where the clue box was located.
In the premiere, which aired on September 30, viewers saw how Zach, 30, and Nate nearly missed the Aquabus that sisters Dafina and Sarah Dunmore, as well as couple Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby, boarded. The brothers managed to catch the next available boat, but only after realizing they had ended up in the wrong place. Zach noted that they did not see where the other teams were dropped off and missed the flag indicating the detour, as they decided to use a canoe.
Despite the mistake, Zach and Nate realized that their persistence helped them stay focused on their goal. Zach mentioned that it made him understand they were not that far behind the other teams. Nate added that it was «pretty cool» to overcome such difficulties.
When the brothers arrived at the canoe task, several teams were still finishing it. Daisha and Dalton, who initially worked with Dafina and Sarah, used their express pass to skip this challenge and finished in ninth place. Ultimately, Daisha and Dalton finished just a few minutes ahead of Zach and Nate.
Zach recalled that the time difference upon arriving at the taxi was about one to two minutes. He emphasized that everything was very close, and the time difference at the finish was only two to four minutes. The premiere of «The Amazing Race» continues on October 1 at 9:30 PM Eastern Time.
