NBA star Zion Williamson has denied all allegations from a woman who claims he raped her, stating that their relationship was consensual.
Williamson, 26, described his relationship with the unnamed woman as «friends with benefits», - which was «friendly and informal», - according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. The woman, known only as Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles in May 2025, claiming she was Williamson’s former girlfriend. She accused him of kidnapping, rape, and intimidation over the course of a multi-year relationship that she says began in 2018 when he was attending Duke University.
Williamson’s attorneys argue in court documents that their interactions were «limited and infrequent and fully consensual». The lawsuit alleges that in 2020, Williamson raped and assaulted her in his home in Beverly Hills, claiming that «she cannot sleep without having sex with him», - before restraining her and committing the assault.
The woman also claims that Williamson assaulted her again a few days later, taking her phone and laptop to prevent her from seeking medical help. The lawsuit states that over the next three years, Williamson choked her several times with such force that she feared for her life and ultimately lost consciousness. She also accused him of making threats against her and her family.
Williamson’s attorneys stated, «We take these allegations very seriously and categorically deny them». They added that the relationship between Williamson and the plaintiff was never romantic and began over six years ago when he was 18. They claimed the relationship ended many years ago, and only after that did the woman begin demanding millions of dollars.
The attorneys also reported that Williamson has informed law enforcement about the alleged attempts at extortion and intends to file a counterclaim for significant amounts for defamation. «While these allegations are false, we acknowledge the seriousness of the claims and welcome the opportunity to prove the truth in court», - they concluded.
