Star of the show «1000-Lb. Sisters» Tammy Slaton celebrates an important milestone in her weight loss journey.
In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, August 18, Slaton reposted a video from content creator Kathleen Foster, in which seven people demonstrate impressive weight loss results. Set to the motivating song «Rise Up» by Andra Day, Tammy appeared in a comparative post, reacting to a video in which she and six of her weight loss companions are featured.
As the friends held hands and raised them in unison, the video showed that the group as a whole had lost an amazing 2078 pounds. 38-year-old Slaton shared that she personally had lost 500 pounds since the beginning of her transformation.
«Truly absolutely amazing ladies, and I am proud to call you my friends», - she wrote. «I am proud of each of you. You are not only beautiful on the inside, but also on the outside. Never forget».
In September 2022, Slaton, who stars in the TLC series alongside her sister Amy Slaton Halterman, underwent a stomach reduction surgery and constantly keeps fans updated on her weight loss journey.
«One of the big changes I went through this year, probably seems small to most people», - she told PEOPLE magazine after losing 440 pounds in December 2023. «But for me, it was huge».
«Just the ability to walk without a walker or be pushed in a wheelchair, and not using oxygen. I don’t even sleep with it at night anymore», - she continued. «Then it was the ability to sit in a regular car, in the front seat, and buckle the seatbelt without using an extender. So, what may seem trivial to some people, is huge for me».
Slaton also explained how her weight loss journey has significantly improved her mental health.
«Before I went to rehab, I was just bitter, unhappy, very suicidal and depressed», - she shared in a February TikTok. «I personally noticed a lot of changes in how I treat people and my family. Just my attitude and how much happier I seem. I smile a lot more», - she added. «I appreciate life now, where before I hated it. I hated everything about life. And now I just go with it»
