From unexpected hospitalizations to life-threatening diagnoses, 2025 has been a time when celebrities have opened up about their personal health battles. Stars such as Elton John, Eric Dane, and Justin Timberlake have revealed everything from vision loss to Lyme disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, reminding fans that fame does not make one immune to medical challenges.

As these stars speak about their conditions, they not only raise awareness but also inspire others to prioritize their well-being. Below, we have compiled the most significant health issues of this year and other health updates.

On July 31, 2025, Justin, 44, announced that he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease during his Forget Tomorrow world tour. In an Instagram post, he shared: «Among other things, I am dealing with some health issues and have been diagnosed with Lyme disease — I’m not telling you this to make you feel sorry for me, but to shed light on what I am dealing with behind the scenes».

He added: «If you have dealt with this disease or know someone who has — then you know: living with it can be ruthlessly exhausting, both mentally and physically».

British singer Jessie J announced in early June 2025 that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The 37-year-old artist confirmed that she will soon undergo surgery and emphasized that the cancer was detected at the earliest, most treatable stage. In a video posted on Instagram on June 3, 2025, she said: «I have always shared everything I go through in my life. Before the release of 'No Secrets,' I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer».

«I emphasize the word early. Cancer is awful in any form, but I stick to the word early», - she explained, noting that she had undergone numerous tests.

She added: «I know how much it helped me in the past to connect with other people who gave me their love and support, as well as their own stories».

«Euphoria» star Eric Dane announced in April that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). At 52, he shared that he is grateful for his «loving family» by his side during his health battle.

He added: «I feel lucky that I can continue to work and look forward to returning to the set of 'Euphoria' next week. I ask for privacy for me and my family at this time».

Former «Real Housewives of Beverly Hills» cast member Teddi Mellencamp has been battling stage 2 melanoma since 2022. In early 2025, she was hospitalized due to multiple brain tumors associated with a malignant skin tumor. After surgery to remove the brain tumors — and further surgeries for tumors in the lungs — she expressed gratitude to her medical team and remains on active treatment.

On April 2, the 44-year-old star shared a health update on her Instagram stories, lying in bed, thanking fans for their support. «I woke up to so many kind messages», - she said. «I just want to say thank you. So many messages about how strong I am. And I have to tell you, sometimes I feel really strong, and sometimes I feel really sad and lonely. And I think that’s a normal part of what we all go through, and that’s okay. Stage 4 cancer can be scary».

Bindi Irwin was hospitalized in May 2025 after an appendicitis rupture. During her recovery, the 27-year-old also underwent surgery to remove endometriosis lesions and repair a hernia. She shared her journey publicly and on her Instagram, thanking fans for their support during her recovery. «Thank you for your incredible words of support and kindness. The reason I share my health journey is because more girls and women desperately need answers to their undiagnosed pain. I have been battling endometriosis for over 12 years. This disease paralyzes and can make you feel incredibly isolated».

She added: «We need to raise awareness and change the approach to women’s health»
