The Prince and Princess of Wales visited the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

Last week, I wondered if the Prince and Princess of Wales would completely miss the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, just as they missed the World Cup. I really thought about it because the family hadn’t been seen since Wimbledon, and they usually disappear for their «summer vacation». However, it seems that the Waleses were subjected to enough subtle pressure because they appeared on the penultimate day of the games, on Saturday. They even brought Prince Louis with them! Louis rarely attends sporting events with the family, so it was a special day.
One of the few «cool» things about Prince William is his Scottish title: when he and Kate are in Scotland, they are called the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay. I love that title! So the Rothesay family was at the event, watching various events at the Commonwealth Games. At one of the events, the family sat right behind the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh (Edward and Sophie). At one point, Louis got a hat and was very pleased with it. Prince George looked less pleased, and in my opinion, since George is already a teenager, he finds his younger siblings a bit awkward. Remember what it’s like at that age? Everything is always awkward. Siblings are awkward. Parents are awkward. Hats are awkward.
Kate made sure that all the preliminary materials about the family’s trip included something about her patronage, SportsAid. Kate does almost nothing for SportsAid, but of course, she was there as a patron, and I’m sure several athletes participating in the games received scholarships or funding from SportsAid. I can also tell by Kate and Charlotte’s light hair that they have spent the last three weeks in the sun. Norfolk? Or did they go to some beach abroad?
P. S. They really posted a photo where everyone is facing away from the camera, as if they don’t want to show their children’s faces! LOL
